Author and Matawan resident Scott Mazzella will be presenting a book talk about New Jersey’s greatest coastal storms. \nSince colonial times\, Americans have been fascinated by storms. Mazzella will take you on a journey through some of the most fascinating and devastating storms the Jersey Shore has ever seen. From the ’44 Hurricane to the ’62 Storm/nor’easter to our own great storm Superstorm Sandy\, Mazzella will discuss them all with vivid and eye-opening images from all of these storms. In addition to the great storms of the Jersey Shore\, Mazzella will discuss tornados\, derechos\, and meteotsunamis! Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about New Jersey’s most intriguing weather events. \n  \nScott Mazzella is the author of the four-time national award-winning book “Surviving Sandy: Long Beach Island and the Greatest Storm of the Jersey Shore” and co-author of the national award-winning second edition of “Great Storms of the Jersey Shore”.  Both books will be available for purchase at the presentation. The author will also gladly sign any copies attendees bring with them as well!
