DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a gala afternoon at the Burrowes Mansion. Take a break from the hectic pace of the holiday season to relax\, mingle\, and enjoy the holiday decorations\, food\, and music. \nHoliday music will be performed throughout the afternoon.  Matawan-Aberdeen guitar virtuosos Frank and Mike will perform acoustic guitar and vocals\, and MHS member Diane Doolittle will provide flute music.  Sing along to holiday classics or simply listen while enjoying light refreshments. \nIf you are able to contribute some baked goods or light snacks for the Musicale\, please contact Daisy at daisydorr@gmail.com. \nAdmission is free\, though donations are warmly welcomed. \nStill searching for the perfect Christmas gift? DESCRIPTION:On the first and third Sunday of each month\, Matawan Historical Society Mansion volunteers provide tours of the Burrowes Mansion to the public. Everyone is welcome and the tours are free (although donations to the Society are greatly appreciated). \nEach tour leads visitors room-to-room while guides discuss the Mansion’s dramatic history\, unique architecture\, period furniture\, and the fascinating people who lived there.

DESCRIPTION:Hello\, All Historical Society Members: \nPARTY \nIt is that time of year again\, and the Matawan Historical Society is having its Annual Christmas Party for all our members. There will be prizes and games\, great food\, and awesome companionship for an all-around great time. \nFOOD \nThe Society will cater the main courses\, but attendees should bring an appetizer or a dessert to share. Make it special or buy at the store- no judgment at Christmas time! \nWater and soda will be available. \nGIFT EXCHANGE\nWe hope everyone will participate in our popular tradition of the gift swap. Please bring a WRAPPED gift of $25 in value to participate in the exchange. You will be encouraged to “steal” another gift for the same value. It is a real blast and a good way to clean out those gifts you got a few days before! The gift may be new or old but be considerate of the person who may have to take it home. \nPlease note that this is a FREE event for all members! If you are not a member\, you are encouraged to join and participate in all the year’s festivities and events.
