Topic: “Envisioning New Jersey: A new visual history of the Garden State”

Professor Veit will present The Garden State, The Crossroads of the Revolution, the Suburban State, the Sopranos State, the Sandy State, and the home of the Toxic Avenger: what is New Jersey? In this illustrated presentation, Dr. Veit will discuss the book he co-wrote with Maxine Lurie, Envisioning New Jersey.

The presentation uses numerous images and a series of carefully selected little-known incidents from our state’s history to illustrate New Jersey’s history. He concludes that New Jersey is indeed a mirror of America. The presentation is free to all. Refreshments to follow. The MHS members’ update meeting will follow the refreshment break.
